Immersive, fun, and educational - Weorod absolutely smashed our Festival of Archaeology celebrations! Thank you to your friendly and engaging team for their fantastic demonstrations
Portsmouth Museum & Art Gallery
Weorod are a fantastic re-enactment group. They are organised, friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable with amazing attention to detail. We love having them at our events and workshops. They are always really popular and we would not hesitate to recommend them.
The Salisbury Museum
It was so wonderful to see people of all ages visiting the display and staying for the re-enactments. WEOROD really do make history fun for young people and engaging for adults. It was one of the highlights of the festival.
Winchester Heritage Open Days
Your contribution was massively appreciated and was certainly one of the highlights of the day – I know many of the soldiers also really appreciated seeing how some of their discoveries might once have looked. One Signaller told me how it had confirmed his choice of favourite beads on site. Should Saxon elements once again come to the fore with Op Nightingale, you will certainly be hearing from me.
Operation Nightingale
Weorod made a fantastic addition to our open day. Their passion and enthusiasm for the period was obvious and I was impressed with their extensive knowledge. The whole team were great with visitors of all ages and their displays and demonstrations added something really special to the event - they brought the site to life.
Wessex Archaeology
You were brilliant! You were flexible and helpful throughout the booking process and you did everything promised on the day with a friendly and welcoming attitude and with knowledge and flair. You looked really impressive set up in the grounds and visitors loved it. Despite blazing sun you carried on smiling and did us proud. We will have you back and will welcome you to come and see our collection whenever you are in the area.
The Salisbury Museum
Weorod are not just your average costumed interpreters. Their depth of knowledge of the history of the period is astonishing, and their commitment to correct textiles, materials and even food is impressive.
We were most impressed by the strong connections with local archaeological evidence reflected in the replica artefacts and in the living history interpretation, which underlined the entertaining spectacle with an accessible and engaging educational foundation.
Westbury Manor Museum
I was really pleased with Weorod's professionalism and their display of crafts. There was a good variety of replica artefacts and the interpreters were friendly and approachable. I was really impressed with what you offered and I would recommend you to my colleagues within the department to book you again in the future.

Go Back to the 'Book Us' pageJust a quick note to thank you and your colleagues at Weorod for setting up camp in the City Museum on Friday and Saturday and for making the event such a success. We had 753 visitors over the two days, which is quite a few for a small building. I was impressed by your members’ knowledge of the period, and by the way they were able to communicate it to visitors of a wide range of ages and prior knowledge of the period. It was also good to see visitors able to have a number of opportunities to handle replica items from the Early Medieval times.
